Good times, good times. Thirteen people attended, food was eaten, drinks were drank (drunk?), and games were played. Thanks to K and J for bringing the game Munchkin, the playing of which turned into the highlight of the night for many. Also thanks to all who brought food and drinks. Dishes and serving ware will be sold on eBay if not picked up by Wednesday evening.
SMASH’s beach cleanup has been a great tool for promoting the group and a positive image for atheism in general, but we need someone to step up and organize the process (choose the dates, coordinate volunteers, hand out supplies on-site, etc.). Who’s looking for a way to contribute? Talk to Anita at the next event or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
For November’s meeting, let’s talk about thankfulness, the Thanksgiving holiday and creating traditions for our families as nonbelievers. We also welcome discussion of any challenges you may be facing with living without religion. This meetup is intended to be a forum for members to discuss how to be authentic, secular and happy in society at large.

Some of us are already planning to attend the conference. We would love to see more of the group attend, support the Humanists of Florida, and take advantage of this nearby gathering of freethinkers. It is Saturday and Sunday, November 2nd and 3rd.

Come hang out with us (just for fun). Anita will host, but feel free to bring a snack to enjoy and your beverage of choice. Cards, games and you tube available, or just socialize.
